Crest Creek Crags

Crest Creek is the HOME crag of the Heathens Club. For over twenty years the club has worked to develop this area into one of the finest climbing crags anywhere. The rock at Crest Creek is comprised of Pillow Basalt laid down 240 million years ago as part of the Karmutsen Volcanics.  Over fifteen distinct Walls are linked by a network of manicured trails offering easy access to the climbing areas as well as a pleasant walkabout for non-climbing visitors and tourists alike. Over 250 separate routes have been established. These comprise a mix of Trad and Sport free climbing as well as a number of aid routes. Free route difficulties range from 5.6 to 5.12 with the emphasis on moderate 5.9 to 5.10. All Routes have bolted anchors at the top with conveniently located Rappel hangers nearby. Aid routes range from bolt ladders to all gear and mixed bolt/gear.
